Laptop Rentals
71Sometimes, people need the use of a laptop for a brief amount of time or for a special occasion such as a wedding slideshow or a special music playlist for a birthday party. But since most people own desktop computers, they may not want to buy a laptop for a single use. It is for this reason that many computer companies and office supply stores now offer laptop rental services.
If you do find yourself in need of a laptop rental, start by inquiring with your local computer store. If they don't offer laptop rentals, or if the rental fees seem a bit excessive, then have a look online. There are many online companies that will rent a laptop and ship it anywhere across the country.

Things To Consider When Renting A Laptop Online
There are many things to consider if you've decided to rent a laptop from an internet company. First, does the company include the shipping cost (both ways) in the rental fee or will they charge extra? Most often it comes as an additional charge so be prepared to pay a little extra for the shipping. The shipping charges will be determined by the laptop weight, your location and by the shipping level of service. If you need to rent a laptop on short notice, you're going to pay a big price for next day delivery.
Does Your Laptop Rental Include Insurance?
Something else to consider when renting a laptop is Insurance. Usually, you can purchase insurance from the rental company itself, at an extra cost of course. If the company doesn't offer insurance, you may want to contact a local insurance company for coverage or see if you can add it to your current homeowner insurance to cover possible loss or damage. As with any rental, you are 100% responsible the laptop if it should get damaged or stolen. As long as you have insurance coverage, you are protected for your laptop rental.
Do You Need Special Equipment For Your Laptop Rental?
When renting a laptop, it's important to consider what type of additional equipment or software you will need for your set-up. For instance, a rental laptop may come with one of several operating systems such as Windows 7, Vista or XP and if you need to run special software for a slideshow or music player you should check to see if the available OS is compatible. Other considerations include the types of output for display or audio that are required, especially if you are hooking the laptop up to a projector or sound system. Be sure to check with the rental company to make sure that their equipment will suit your needs.

If you're renting a laptop from a local company, be sure to have them walk you through using the equipment. Not only does this ensure the laptop is in good working condition before you get it home, but it could save the frustration of trying to figure out all the equipment by yourself!

I have rented laptops in the past and it was expensive. I did it at a time when they were more costly. I'm not sure the rental prices have come down though. Another option might be to see if www.SnapGoods.com has one in your neighborhood. It's a new service for lots of items. I've not tested it yet, but the service seems to be getting good reviews.
Unique Idea. How can you get this idea?
